There are many ways that you can share your gifts and talents in ministry at Shepherd of the Sierra.
Administration: The Administration Team oversees buildings and grounds, gifts and memorials, the annual budget, financial reports, investments, and overall stewardship activities.
Christian Education: The CE Team is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a well-balanced Christian education program. They oversee the church nursery facility that ensures quality care for our youngest children (birth to age three). For children 4 years to 6th grade, they plan a biblically based curriculum that utilizes storytellers and craft leaders. The CE team also oversees the Youth Group Middle School (Journey, grades 6 - 8) and Youth Group High School (Oasis, grades 9 - 12) and vacation Bible school.
Fellowship: The Fellowship Team welcomes and follows up with visitors, provides Sunday greeters, and coffee fellowship. They also sponsor small study groups and fellowship groups for meals and special interests and coordinate special events as needed.
Mission: The Mission Team coordinates mission programs of local, national and international scope and provides our fellowship with opportunities to support these programs. They regularly support The Gathering Inn, Lazarus Project, What Would Jesus Do (WWJD), St. Vincent de Paul, and sponsor adult and youth mission trips.
Worship: The Worship Team oversees and approves all acts of public worship and sacraments in the life of the church except those responsibilities reserved to the pastor alone. This includes ushers, communion assistants, lay readers, musicians and singers. There is always a need for volunteers interested in serving in these capacities.
