The music ministry at Shepherd is a vibrant part of our church family. There are many ways to be involved. We use music to honor God and to uplift our community in praise and prayer. Please contact Julie Adams at music@shepherdpres.org to find out how you can join us.

PRAISE TEAM –The Praise Team leads the music of worship each Sunday at Shepherd. Singers and instrumentalists provide a wide variety of music including traditional hymns, praise songs, spirituals and more. A strong level of musicianship and an ability to read music is preferred for the Praise Team.

|
SHEPHERD CHOIR - Our choir presents contemporary and traditional anthems in worship once a month and at special events. No audition is necessary; all you need is a love of singing praises to the Lord.

|
HAND BELL CHOIR – The Hand Bell Choir at Shepherd is open to anyone who has basic music reading ability. We play bell music in worship several times a year and occasionally accompany the choir.

|
TAIZÉ MUSICIANS – During the month of November and during the season of Lent singers and instrumentalists help lead midweek Taizé services of music, prayer and silence.

Julie Adams, Director of Music, received her Bachelor of Music degree from CSU Long Beach and her Master of Music degree in Conducting from CSU Sacramento. She has taught music at American River College, CSU Sacramento and has been conductor for the Sacramento Children’s Chorus. Julie has worked in the church doing music ministry for nearly 35 years and she is the founding Artistic Director for the chamber ensemble Reconciliation Singers Voices of Peace (RSVP).
Meagan Kilpatrick, Worship Pianist, received her Bachelor of Music degree from CSU Sacramento in 2004 and her Master's of Music degree in piano performance from New York University in 2008. In addition to her work at Shepherd, she is accompanist with the Sacramento Children's Chorus, El Camino High School and Arden Middle School.
